CECP
Exploring D&I in Corporate Social Engagement
The Challenge
CECP (Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose) works with CEOs and corporate philanthropy executives to increase companies’ impact on social issues though their corporate social engagement (CSE) activities. The Walmart Foundation approached CECP to conduct an inquiry into how companies are using CSE activities to address diversity & inclusion (D&I) issues, such as race, gender, and immigration. CECP and the Walmart Foundation sought to address an urgent need for knowledge, insight, and guidance to executives and the CSE field, overall.
Our Solution
Topol Consulting worked with CECP to design, develop, and execute a comprehensive inquiry into D&I in CSE. Activities included interviews with executives at companies, foundations, and non-profits, an online survey, and extensive research of corporate and foundation engagement in D&I.
The Impact
Topol Consulting led the development and production of a formal white paper summarizing the results of the inquiry. The white paper identified insights and best practices that provide CSE professionals with knowledge and approaches to help advance D&I via their CSE efforts. In addition, Topol Consulting partnered with CECP to design and lead a panel discussion at CECP’s annual membership Summit meeting. The D&I in CSE panel received one of the highest ratings from Summit attendees.
